アービング・バーリンに"Queen of Tin Pan Alley"と呼ばれた。
"Lullaby of the Leaves", "The Lady I Love", "Close Your Eyes", "Starlight", "My River Home", "By a Rippling Stream", "Stay Out of My Dreams", "A Mile a Minute" and "It's All So New to Me",など数々の曲を作った。

Tin Pan Alleyとは
アメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク市マンハッタンの28丁目のブロードウェイと6番街に挟まれた一角の呼称である。この地名で呼ばれる辺りは、1800年代後半にブロードウェイのミュージカルの音楽に関係する会社（レコードの普及前であり、当時の音楽に関する主たる商品は楽譜であった。このため、ここでいう会社は、楽譜出版社、演奏者のエージェント）が集まっていた。
