リチャード・アームストロングホワイティング（1891-1938）

ハーバード陸軍士官学校卒業後、様々な音楽出版社のスタッフライターとしての彼のキャリアを積む。
1919年よりハリウッドで映画音楽を書く。彼はと協力し、BG DeSylva、レイ・イーガン、ジョニー・マーサー、ニール・モレ、レオ・ロビン、ガス・カーン、そしてシドニークレア（下記参照）のヒット数を生成するために、。彼はまた、ブロードウェイ演劇のスコアの数を書いた。 BG DeSylva, Ray Egan, Johnny Mercer, Neil Moret, Leo Robin, Gus Kahn, Sidney Clareと共に作品を作る。
リチャード・A・ホワイティングは、歌手 / 女優 マーガレット・ホワイティングと女優の バーバラ・ホワイティング・スミスの父。

ジョニー・マーサー(1909-1976)

ジョージア州サバナ生まれ。作詞・作曲家。歌手でもあった。
" Mr. Americana"と呼ばれ、1940年代にはHarold Arlenとのコンビ。1960年代にはHenry Manciniとコンビを組み、「Moon River」「Days Of Wine And Roses」で2年連続アカデミー主題歌賞を取る。
40年の音楽キャリアで、1500曲以上の曲を書き、100曲をこえるヒット曲があり、トップ10には、13曲が入っている。385本の映画に作詞・作曲作品を提供して、18回アカデミー賞にノミネートされている。Autumn Leaves（枯葉）の英詩もジョニー・マーサーだ。キャピトル・レコードの創設者でもある。

Too Marvelous For Words（トゥー・マーヴェラス・フォー・ワーズ）は、
１９３７年のミュージカル映画「Ready, Willing and Able」で使用された。
その中でルビー・キーラーとリー・ディクソンが歌った。
また、１９４０年にリチャード・ホワイティングの娘のマーガレット・ホワイティングが、
ジョニー・マーサーのラジオ番組でこの曲を歌い、歌手デビューした。

この映画は、それほど成功なかったが、
この曲は、１９３７年４月にビング・クロスビーがの歌いチャートの１位になった。
